The construction firm are building two high voltage electric circuits from an existing substation in Moreton Street to the new UK Power Networks substation which is currently being constructed in Victoria Street.
The work involves excavating in the carriageway along heavily populated streets. GAP Group Major Account Manager Karl Sieniawski worked together with GAP’s Croydon Non-Mechanical depot to provide an Echo Barrier system for the project, helping to reduce complaints in the area and demonstrating the product’s effectiveness in high-tech noise management.
Amelia Fauklin of Clancy Docwra praised the products: ‘The acoustic panels have proved a great success while carrying out these excavation works, especially outside a large hospital. ‘Not only have they suppressed noise levels by absorbing rather than pushing the noise up and out, but we have also noticed a substantial drop in complaints.’ The echo Barriers belong to a growing portfolio of products and services as GAP Group continues to diversify and explore new markets. Under the rebranded name, GAP Hire Solutions, the company have launched three new specialist divisions, Welfare Services, Event Services and Survey & Safety.
These are combined with their traditional Plant & Tool division along with Lifting and Non-Mechanical Plant, to offer customers a one-stop-shop for all their hiring needs.
