Working with the Track Partnership, installing the barriers started early on Christmas Day. Six days of intensive work followed, resulting in the handing back of the new track and structures and removing the barriers on time at the start of traffic on New Year’s Eve.
Earls Court is a residential area, and so it was essential to take full precautions against noise and dust pollution affecting the neighbours. Echo Barrier noise screens and tents were used around the noisy activities, particularly the breaking out of slabs. The effectiveness of these precautions was seen when there were no complaints received about the project at any time. We’re happy to have been invited to supply barriers once again for Christmas 2014.
This time around, the works period is longer and so our barriers will be working hard to keep the station and surrounding areas quiet and disturbance free for 12 days whilst the station and track upgrades go ahead. At Echo Barrier we work hard to ensure our barriers work even harder to keep the peace.
