Market leading noise barrier passes stringent weather testing

The testing, which was carried out independently, included two specific tests; the first proving its capability when subjected to minus 40degrees and the second proving its waterproof claims.
The H2 barrier is now officially certified to BS EN 60529: 1992 IPX6 for being completely waterproof and certified to BS EN 60068-2-1:2007 for maintaining performance in freezing temperatures.

The majority of uses for the noise reduction barriers are on external works sites such as building projects, rail engineering maintenance and events such as concerts, so it was imperative that all tests were passed with flying colours. “We wanted to make sure that the barriers were water and cold resistant so they could be used in any circumstance and location” said Peter Wilson, Technical Director. “We pride ourselves in having the best and most effective noise reduction solutions for construction sites, rail engineering works and events and so having independent testing done was crucial to our offering.” The testing involved selecting random barriers from the stock and putting them through rigorous simulations, such as being soaked in water with a hose at a rate of 100 litres per second and being erected in freezing temperatures of minus 40 degrees.
They were then tested to check their noise reduction abilities and dryness in each scenario. Echo barriers not only offer a reduction in noise from loud work sites, but they can reduce the amount of dust and debris escaping on to the street, and offer a high level of health protection for employees in terms of reducing exposure to a level of noise which can damage the ear. Barriers can also be designed to include the logo and branding of the company using them.

Echo barrier systems make noise management simple, fast and highly effective. Barriers are flexible, provide exceptional acoustic performance and are easy to store, transport and fit. They were recently recognised by the Institute of Acoustics and Noise Abatement Society at their annual awards. For more information about echo barrier visit www.echobarrier.co.uk
